ROBERT RAYMOND KIM TURNER
May 11, 1942 - April 12, 2020
He is survived by his beloved wife Barbara, his sons, Matthew (Cindy-Lee), Paul and Steven; Barb's children, Laura (Dean), Jarret (Zuzana) and Carrie; and his grandchildren, Keelee, Kyra, Kennedy, Emmett, Hillary, Evan, Logan and Charlotte. He also leaves to mourn his beloved brother Coulter, sister Karen Dunn (David), sister-in-law Janice Campbell (Keith), Linda Turner, mother of his three sons, and many nephews, nieces, extended family members and dear friends, whom he regarded with great affection and caring. He was predeceased by his younger brother Kent.
Kim was born and raised in Winnipeg to parents, Robert (Bob) and Kathleen Turner. He graduated with a diploma in Agriculture from the University of Manitoba and pursued a career path through many aspects of the agriculture industry, from farm hand to chemical sales management, but his proudest career accomplishment was the successful textile sales agency that he established and operated while raising his sons in Calgary with Linda. Following his retirement in 2004, he pursued his interests in managing his acreage, following his Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Jets, and enjoying the cottage life with Barb at the Pelican Harbour cottage they built together on Lake Winnipeg. His passions included his trees, his banjo, and most of all his family. Kim will be fondly remembered for his friendly demeanour, upbeat spirit, and infectious optimism. He was always the person that those around him could depend on to lighten the mood and make everyone feel comfortable. He would not want to be sadly missed, but he will be missed all the same.
In lieu of flowers, we would welcome a donation to the humanitarian cause of your choice.
As per Kim's wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends and hold a memorial service at a place and time to be announced in the future. Interment at Chapel Lawn Cemetery in Winnipeg.

I grew up on Valour Road, right behind the Turner house on Spruce Street. The Peets and Turner families were close friends throughout the years. I was sorry to learn of the loss of Kim. My condolences to the family. Carolyn - Posted by: Carolyn Greeniaus Née Peets (Neighbour on Valour Road) on: May 26, 2020

Dear Barb and family...We were so shocked and sorry to hear of the passing of Kim. Kim and I were competitors in the fabric industry as well as good friends. We enjoyed many golf games together, barbecues and lots of laughter. Kim touched the lives of a lot of people and his presence will be dearly missed. It’s been a few years since we have seen one another since he moved from Calgary back to Winnipeg. We always enjoyed his company.... he was a true gentleman and very well respected. Our heartfelt condolences to all of Kim’s family at this very sad time...RIP Kim. - Posted by: Rick and Val Anderson (Friends) on: May 22, 2020

We are so saddened to hear of Kim’s passing. Our deepest condolences. While I’ve known Matt for many years, I had the opportunity in recent years to meet Paul and Steve, as well as others in the extended Turner universe. You are good people and I think that is a reflection and the legacy of your Dad. Take care. - Posted by: Peter Kovacs (Family Friend) on: Apr 25, 2020

And the Best Dad Ever Award goes to My Dad Kim Turner! There will be many tributes and memories that we'll all be sharing and this is a testament to what an amazing guy My Dad has always been to Me and My Brothers and to Everyone Around Us! Dad has always stood out from the crowd, with humility, and love, and a true caring for what is right, for all of the people around. I was fortunate and blessed to grow up with My Dad's influence all around me every day. Dad always made it clear that He wanted Us All to be Happy and to be sure to not mope around being all sad and stuff when he died and it's time to Step Up and Respect! I think what he meant, knowing how much we really would all miss him, was that life is meant to be lived to it's fullest! Enjoy life and be sure to wake up every day like My Dad did and say "Today IS Going To Be A Great Day!" Lot's more to follow as the months and years come. I love You Dad!
