MARGARET MAKUS

It is with profound sadness that I announce the passing of my mother, Margaret, on April 7, 2020, at age 94.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ed; parents, Emanuel and Magdalene; and siblings, Erna, Lenore, Herb, Rudy, Isabel, Nellie and Deloris.
She leaves behind her daughter, Shelly; and sisters, Kay and Betty. Her loving spirit and quick wit will be missed by all.
Mom was born and raised near Mossbank, Saskatchewan. She moved to Winnipeg in her teens, and met Dad while working at Paulin Chambers. They married in 1948.
She loved being a homemaker, but excelled at being a mom. All of those she thought of as 'her children' would attest to that.
Mom was known for her baking skills and always had cookies in the freezer, just in case someone dropped in for coffee.
Thank you to River Park Gardens for showing the compassion that allowed me to spend Mom's last days with her.
In keeping with Mom's wishes, there will be no service.

Family and friends may sign a
book of condolence at www.glenlawn.ca.

  • My sincerest condolences to you Shelley. I admired your steadfast love and dedication to all your mother's needs. Take care of yourself now! "My Mother kept a garden, a garden of the heart; She planted all the good things that gave my life to start. She turned me to the sunshine and encouraged me to dream; Fostering and nurturing the seeds of self-esteem. And when the winds and rain came, she protected me enough; But not too much because she knew I'd need to stand up strong and tough. Her constant good example always taught me right from wrong; Markers for my pathway that will last a lifetime long. I am my mother's garden. I am her legacy. And I hope today she feels the love, reflected back from me." Author Unknown - Posted by: Carol De Baets (friend at River Park Gardens) on: Apr 21, 2020
