LEONARD THOMAS MULVANEY
1934 - 2020

It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Leonard at Deer Lodge Centre on April 22, 2020.
Leonard will be sadly missed by his loving children - Laura, Shawn (Sue) and Kyle (Barb), his 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Leonard loved to fish, hunt, and spend time telling stories to his loved ones. One of his favourite entertainers was Johnny Cash and we have appropriately added a few lines from a song, "He spoke to me in a voice so sweet I thought I heard the shuffle of the angel's feet".
As per Leonard's wishes no service will be held.
The family would like to thank all the staff at the Victoria Hospital and the Deer Lodge Centre.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or Diabetes Canada.

Condolences & Memories (8 entries)

  • I just want to say how deeply sorry to hear about Len's passing. I have been neighbours for both Len and Laura for over 50 years. Boy times fly!! I remember them as such a loving couple and now they are together again. I still recall Len calling out the back window of their home calling "Kyle, Sean, it's time for supper" to the park in front of house. He had a "loud" voice which they quickly heeded to the call. I also remember babysitting all of you way back then. I have many memories of both of them and our sympathy to you all. They were wonderful neighbours and friends. PS - Laura, you look just like your mother and Sean and Kyle, you look just your father. Just had to add that cause every time I see you guys, that's what I see. Take care and our thoughts are with you. - Posted by: sandy hiebert (neighbour) on: May 03, 2020

  • Sincere sympathies from Terry and I to to Mulvaney family. To Laura, who I worked with for many years and cousin Kyle, and their families. Kyle has lost two great men in his life over the past six weeks. May you treasure all of those precious memories. - Posted by: Pat Fedoruk (Bannister) (Coworker to Laura, related to Kyle through marriage) on: Apr 26, 2020

  • I remember Lenny for his robust personality and that North End reinforcing laughter. Lenny told me once that he just wanted to make people happy! I was very close to the Mulvaneys and share their sadness. - Posted by: David Malloy (Friend of the family) on: Apr 25, 2020

  • Laura, Shawn,& Kyle & families Sorry to hear of the passing of your Dad, our thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time. I remember your Dad coming out to the farm and we would go deer hunting, and I was always amazed how he managed to get his deer back to the city strapped to the front hood of the Volkswagon. • Please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of your father. Our dads worked together for many years at CN and I can say without hesitation that Len was Corrado's best friend. I have many great memories of our dads and you kids as well. Both my parents loved Len very much. We have a saying in my house today whenever we meet a kind, generous or exceptional person, it goes like this: "That guy is almost as nice as Len Mulvaney." My wife was fortunate enough to have met your dad but alas my kids never did. They know however, that your dad was a very nice man. I am so sorry for your loss. • I am saddened to hear the news of Mr Mulvaneys passing. My memories of him go way back to when I played hockey with Kyle at Riverview CC. He would always pack 12 of us in his Orange Dodge and take us to our hockey games. He never complained. Kyle was an amazing hockey player and he would help me, the average at best player at practices giving me a lead puck to work on my wrist shot always encouraging me with nice comments. He was such a nice and caring man I will never forget these memories and I cherish them. God rest your soul Mr. Mulvaney you were and always will be one of the great ones!! - Posted by: Marcello D'Ignazio (Friend of the Family ) on: Apr 25, 2020
