RUTH MARY LONG
1929 - 2020
Ruth was born in Abbey, Saskatchewan and spent her childhood there. She had a successful career in the insurance industry, spending her working years in Winnipeg and Toronto. In retirement she lived in Oakville, Edmonton, and finally Winnipeg. Ruth had a great sense of humour, liked to cook and especially had a great eye for fashion. She had a closet full of clothes to prove it.
Ruth was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Ella Long; and her older brother Bill Long. She is survived by her two sisters, Betty Rankin and Margaret Long, both in Edmonton, and her sister-in-law Marguerite Long of Saskatoon. She is also survived by five nephews and one niece.
Our heartfelt thanks go to Gail Reid, Ruth and Margaret's friend, for her tremendous friendship and support during the last few years of Ruth's life. We would also like to acknowledge the exceptional staff at Poseidon Care Centre. The care and compassion Ruth received is very much appreciated.

As a child growing up in Elmwood, our parents went to Long Insurance Company. She knew we were a struggling family and when my mother came into the office she would donate a box of clothing. I remember the kindness of that act. I hope her legacy lives on with the family. - Posted by: Filomena Nee Pallone and Sisters Erminia and Phyllis (One of the people she has blessed) on: Apr 29, 2020
