DOROTHY JEAN ROBSON
(nee FISHER)
June 20, 1925 - April 24, 2020

With heavy hearts we report the passing of a remarkable woman - our Mom, our Grandma, our Great. She was Mom to her six kids and their spouses, Grandma to 13, Great to 19 - and was just getting started on the Great-Greats. She was a friendly, outgoing individual who had a wide circle of friends who all knew her as Jean.
Mom was born in Brandon and spent her formative years in Dauphin along with her parents, five brothers and one sister. In 1945, she came to Winnipeg to enter the School of Nursing at the old Grace Hospital. As a nursing student, she met the love of her life - Glen Ernest Robson. They were married for 56 years until Glen died in 2003.
As with many women of her generation, Jean left her career for a time to raise a family (Gary, Pat McCallum, Wendy Clark, Dave, Kerry Kowalski and Jan Janzen) which she did in East Elmwood and East Kildonan. Once the kids were older, she returned to the nursing career she loved at the Grace and finally at Bethania Personal Care Home. She was a lifelong member of The Salvation Army. She was a longtime Home League Secretary and a Sunday School teacher.
It was completely in character for her to decide that, at the end of her life, her body was to be donated to the Department of Anatomy at the University of Manitoba for the education of future doctors.
A memorial service will be held at a time when we are all able to gather.
