ANGELA GLORY MCFARLANE
(BLOWATT)

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of our mother and grandmother, Angela Glory McFarlane, aged 92, who passed away on April 27, 2020.
She was born on January 18, 1928, in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba where she attended high school and worked at the local hardware store. Some of her best memories were spent playing baseball with the Olympians Women's baseball team in Portage la Prairie and surrounding areas. This is where she met the love of her life, Robert (Bob) E. McFarlane. Bob was stationed at the Air Force Base in Macdonald, Manitoba. They fell in love and eloped in 1952. They welcomed two children into this world, Louise Ann McFarlane and David Lewis McFarlane.
Angela spent many years travelling with her husband who was posted in various locations across Canada and Europe. When Bob retired from the Air Force they resided in Winnipeg where Angela worked with the Federal government (or the "Feds" as she fondly recalled). She had a passion for politics, singing, playing cards and could always be found socializing and dancing. Angela was known for her vibrant personality and always had a great story to tell. She loved having her family and friends visit at the "Lake" and she made many great memories and lasting friendships there.
Angela was predeceased by her father John, mother Anna, stepfather Joe, her seven brothers and sisters, her loving and devoted husband Bob, son David, grandson Robert and great-granddaughters, Ayla and Willa. Angela is survived by her daughter Louise (Barry), her three granddaughters, Lisa (Brian), Vanessa (Ben), Chantel (Darwin), four great-grandchildren, her many nephews and nieces, and her dedicated and special friend Lori. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law Fran, who was her constant companion and best friend.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the care Angela received from the staff at Park Manor Personal Care Home.
In order to respect Angela's wishes, a funeral service will not be held.
Should friends or family desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind.
