LARRY JOHN JORGINSON
October 6, 1944 - April 6, 2020

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our father, Larry Jorginson, on April 6, 2020, at the age of 75. Larry was preceded in death by his mother Christine, father Lawrence, and brother Glenn.
Over the past year, Larry fought hard against his battle with cancer. Unfortunately, Larry lost his battle and passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his spouse and children.
Larry was born in Selkirk, MB and moved to Thompson, MB in 1967 where he worked for 30 years at INCO Ltd. During his spare time, Larry operated a successful real estate company for many years. He moved to Victoria, BC in 1999, and made Shawnigan Lake, BC his home for his remaining 14 years. Larry will be remembered for his witty humour, his passion for local politics, his love of classic cars, and his kind spirit.
Larry is survived by his wife Kathy; children, Deborah (Jason), Patrick and Laurel (Christian); grandchildren, Vanessa, Isabella, Annika and Camilla; and nephews, Robert (Tarla) and Edward.
We would like to thank Dr. Masuda, Dr. Lowo and Dr. W. Nielsen for the care and support they provided throughout his illness. Thank you Jordy, (Palliative Nursing Care) for the care and compassion you provided.
At his request, a Celebration of Life will be conducted at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the BC Cancer Foundation.

Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • Larry and I frequently debated and laughed over the next move the management of Inco would make and often he would be right! In his own way, Larry was a great mentor and colleague over the 10 years we worked together. - Posted by: Robin Clarke (colleague) on: May 08, 2020

  • Sorry to hear of Larry’s passing. We had a friendly work relationship, and I enjoyed Larry’s company. - Posted by: Pat O’Callaghan (Work colleague ) on: May 02, 2020

  • Our deepest sympathy goes to Kathy and Larry's family... We were very sorry to hear of Larry's passing.... Unfortuneatly it is a shame that we lose touch with those that were so important to us at one time in our life. This goes back over 60 years when I would go out to Selkirk during the summer to stay with grandma or Lorne and Franklyn and play with our cousins Larry and Glen. We grow up, we grow apart but we don't forget the good times.... Rest in Peace Larry. Lilian and Jim Lane (cousin) - Posted by: Jim Lane (Cousin) on: May 02, 2020

  • When I first came to Inco, Larry was a mentor to me in some facets of the job. Later, he was a vital part of the chemistry of the close knit group in the Purchasing Dept. We appreciated his wisdom and passion for getting the job done. At times, he was ahead of his time in reading the changes in the economy and society in general. I fondly remember my time working with him. - Posted by: Gary Wilkie (Co-worker) on: May 02, 2020

  • For at least 5 years, I worked with Larry at Inco in the Materials department including the warehouse and the Purchasing department. He was always finding ways to make extra money especially with his real estate endeavours. Walking with Larry around the plant was an exercise. - Posted by: WAYNE DUNFORD (Business acquaintance) on: May 02, 2020
