FERNANDO SANCHE

Fernando Sanche of Winnipeg, Manitoba passed away peacefully at his residence at Action Marguerite, where he lived for the past year. Fernando was born June 8, 1922. He was trying to get to 100 years old, sadly he passed at 97, on April 23, 2020.
After retiring in 1984 from Swift, he continued to work doing odd jobs of painting and yard care. He had lots of activities that he kept up till he was 96 which included, bowling, dancing and golf. He was also a big hometown fan of the Jets and Bombers.
Fernando is survived by his three children, Alice (Peter), Daniel, and Marc; grandkids, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Special thanks goes out to his very special lady Grace Cheyne. You sure brought him a lot of happiness and made him smile. Your laughs were infectious. The family would like to send a big thank you to the staff at Action Marguerite for really taking good care of him during his stay there. Although we hadn't seen them in six weeks I am very grateful to get the call and we were able to suit up and see him before passing.

RIP POPS.
There's a Welcoming party awaiting you,
say hi to everyone for us.
Love you Dad.

Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • Out of all my uncles and aunts on my mother Anita Sanshe's side, Uncle Fernie was a favorite. It breaks my heart as I only learned today of your passing, as tears run from my eyes. At the time, I had just lost my younger brother Rob (56) and older sister Carol (59) both in August 2019 which left me with significant chronic grief to which I'm still recovering. I have some wonderful memories of you with my mom Anita and pictures I will treasure. I miss you Fern, your kindness in my life growing up, your wisdom, your humor and the wonderful meet up we had including with my sister Elaine, I believe in 2018. Thank you Uncle Fernie ..I wish you were still here. Cathy - Posted by: catherine gervais (niece) on: Jan 20, 2022

  • Sincere condolences to the family. Fern and Vera were special people. They were kind to my Dad (uncle Tony) Sanche and myself, when we lived in Winnipeg and often dropped by for a visit and were very welcomed by Fern, Vera and their family (when they would also drop in). Our thoughts go out to you and the times when we were close. Thank you - Posted by: Jean-Noel Ronald Sanche (First cousin) on: Jun 27, 2020
