LYLE ALVIN POOLE

In the early morning of April 26, 2020, Lyle Alvin Poole passed away unexpectedly at the St. Boniface General Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Lyle was born on September 10, 1944 to Arthur and Muriel Poole in Brandon, Manitoba. He spent most of his early years in rural Manitoba and went on to attend Brandon University and the University of Manitoba where he received a finance degree.
On June 21, 1969, he married Ellen Mary Jamieson and together they went on to raise two sons in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
For most of his career, Lyle worked as an actuary, finishing his career as the Vice President of Group Finance and Control for North American Life and Manulife where he eventually retired from in 1997. Later on, he and Ellen became well known snowbirds in Alamo, Texas, where they met exceptional friends and enjoyed many happy hours and dances.
Lyle is survived by son Mark (Ann) and granddaughter Emma; son Trevor (Jen) and grandchildren, Jared and Lauren. He is also survived by his brother Wayne. Lyle was predeceased by his parents, wife, and brothers, Arthur, Raymond and Earl.
Lyle's quiet and calming presence and sense of humour will be missed by all. He was a remarkable son, brother, devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and incredible friend whose memory will live on through everyone who had the privilege to know him.
A gathering will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
