GERMANO LANZELOTTI

Suddenly on April 29, 2020, Germano Lanzelotti passed away leaving behind his mother Maria , brother Alviso, and many close friends and relatives.
Jerry was born and raised in Winnipeg and spent a large portion of his life managing the family business Las Vegas Amusements pool hall throughout the 1980s. Jerry was an extraordinary pool player back then and at one time won the Manitoba snooker championship, this earned him a spot in the Canadian Snooker Championships held in Montreal that year.
The winner of that would then earn a chance to play in the World Snooker Championship held in England. This was no small achievement considering he was playing against some of the world's best players. Jerry gave them all a run for their money and left them all baffled as to who this whiz kid was.
In the 1990s Jerry partnered up with his brother Alviso and opened up the King's Theatre in St. James. This was the first discount theatre in Winnipeg and with a combined investment of only 10 grand between them. The theatre was a success and grossed well over 320 thousand that year leaving the accountants stunned. This was mostly due to Jerry's business savy. As a teen Jerry excelled in soccer and mathematics, winning awards for best math student numerous times.
Jerry had a witty and wicked sense of humour and ofter left us laughing to tears. Mostly from good natured zingers directed towards some of his many friends.
Jerry was also blessed with a high IQ and leadership qualities. He was generous, he was compassionate, and was always willing to help out anyone in need. Jerry was known as a man of his word. One handshake with him was worth more then paper contracts. He was a good brother and my hero as a child. He was unique. He will be missed by many.
Special thanks goes to Howard Williams, his lifelong friend and true brother. Tammy Lynn Wheatland whom took great care of him and loved him deeply. Charlene, his rock and trusted friend for over a decade. And Sheila, the woman that was always there for him right to the end.

Give Tony my best brother.
I miss the both of YOU.

  • Unbelievable!! I honed my skills at Las Vegas Amusements when I was a teenager. Germano and Tony (God bless their souls in heaven) would always tell me how talented I was and that I would win many tournaments if I stuck with the game and hard work! I eventually won 15 Canadian Championships in 3 disciplines, most notably 7 consecutive Canadian Snooker Championships! Thank you Germano for your encouragement and for your knowledge of Snooker that helped me in many ways in my career! I will be forever grateful for your help and your friendship! Rest in peace sweetie! I'm absolutely heartbroken to hear this news! Sincerely, Anita (Williams) McMahon Originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba, but reside in Toronto, ON! - Posted by: Anita McMahon (Friend) on: May 11, 2020

  • Germano was one of the first of the Lanzelotti's I had met in the mid 90s. He always had a smile, super friendly and always had a joke that would leave you with a sore stomach from laughter. Although I did not have the pleasure of working with him, I worked very closely with his brother, father and uncle at Bourbon Street Billairds, formerly Las Vegas Amusements for the better part of 10 years. My sincere condolences go out to the family; whom I think of as my own. May he rest in peace - Posted by: RenĂ©e Smith (Aquaintence) on: May 10, 2020
