MARIA (MARY) KLASSEN

An extraordinary life came to an end when our Mom died on May 2, 2020.
Mom was born August 31, 1922, in Liebenau, Ukraine. She immigrated to Canada in 1948, and with her characteristic hard work, determination, and unwavering faith, she started a new life. She was an accomplished and generous cook and baker. She gave freely of her time and talents, she enjoyed volunteering at the Sargent MCC Store, she was an extremely proud Canadian and a faithful member of Sargent Avenue Mennonite Church for 70 years.
And above all, she loved and supported us with all her heart.
Mom was predeceased by her husband, Henry, daughter-in-law Gloria, and her parents and two brothers.
She is survived by her children, Henry (Valerie), Gerhard, and Ann (Ken); grandchildren, Matthew (Sonja), Geneva (Tony), Sam (Cindy) Andrew (Jill) and Sara (Jeff); and great-grandchildren, Thea, Eyvind, Thomas, Isla and Zoe.
Our deepest heartfelt thanks to Dr. Q. Doan for his exceptional care.
A private family funeral has been held.
If you would like to remember Mom, please consider making a donation to the charity of your choice.
