ESTHER JOHANNA MELNICK
October 12, 1925 - May 4, 2020
Left to cherish her memory are sons, Randy (Hazel), Jeff (Thecla); and grandchildren, Kilmeny, Katya, Madi; daughter Lynette (Ken) Ulrich and grandchildren, Kendra (Devin) Imrie, Kurtis, Kristopher; and great-grandchildren, Thomas, Harriet and Beatrice Imrie.
Survived by her brothers, John (Joan), Ron (Sharon), Charlie (Irene), David (Bev).
Born in Whitemouth to John and Lydia Buss the second of eight children, Esther worked in the family business The Trans Canada Garage. Later she enjoyed employment at the Whitemouth Municipal Office. In 1948 she married Tom Melnick and together they built a thriving business which included a GM car dealership, a bus line and a taxi service. Mom was a relentless worker raising three children while working six days a week. She had a quick wit, wry sense of humour and said exactly what she thought. She enjoyed attending the Whiteshell Baptist Church her entire life and was a woman of faith. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life.
Family would like to extend sincere gratitude to the staff of the Lac du Bonnet Personal Care Home for their care, attention and love.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lac du Bonnet Personal Care Home or Whiteshell Baptist Church.
A family interment was held.

We are so very sorry to hear of Esther’s passing. For others who may read this, dad (Walter Jansson, age 102) and Esther were table mates at the PCH. Dad is already feeling the loss, not wanting to come out for meals. I know I will miss our little chats about music & where Kristopher is these days. We are grateful for her company these past years. Our deepest condolences. - Posted by: Jansson Family (Friends) on: May 09, 2020
