1932 - 2020

With her daughter by her side, Lois passed peacefully on May 2, 2020.
Predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Gerald Green (2014), and son Colin Robert Green (2019), Lois is survived by daughter Karen (Steve) Armstrong, grandson Sean (Tina) Armstrong, great-grandson Theodore Armstrong, daughter-in-law Bonnie Hsieh, sister Shirley (Cecil) Jagroop; and nieces, Brenda Jagroop and Kamla (Ken) Hoekstra.
Born in Binscarth, Manitoba, Lois was a Home Economics graduate of the University of Manitoba and completed her dietetic internship at Montreal's Royal Victoria Hospital. She worked as a dietitian in Montreal, Winnipeg and with the Canadian Armed Forces in Germany. She was active in the Manitoba Association of Home Economists and the Manitoba School Masters Wives Association and maintained a close connection with her fellow Home Economic grads from the Class of '52. Lois loved to travel and was fortunate to have many opportunities to explore Canada, Europe, and Asia. Her first trip to Europe, as a young woman, started with an ocean voyage and she was very glad that subsequent trips were done by plane. When the family moved to the Canadian Forces base in Germany Lois studied German. That, and a little French, managed to get the family through most of their European adventures. After moving back home to Winnipeg, she and Gerry returned to Germany several more times to hike in the Black Forest. When she was not travelling or trying out new recipes on the family, she loved nothing more than curling up with a good book or a crossword puzzle.
At Lois's request there will be no service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Doctors Without Borders, Agape Table, or Siloam Mission.
