ANNE WIEBE
(nee WARKENTIN)

Anne Wiebe, age 96, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2020, at the Concordia Place with her son Jake at her side. She was born on March 3, 1924 in the village of Neuenburg, South Russia.
Anne will be sadly missed by her son Jacob Wiebe, daughter Elfrieda Wiebe (Jim Brown) and grandson Graham Brown (Rebecca), as well as her sister Mary's children, Erika Friesen (George), Helga Stecky (Frank) and Arthur Born (Karen) and grandchildren, and the extended Wiebe family. Anne was predeceased by her husband Jacob (2007), her sister Mary Born (2007), Henry Born (1997), and grandson Nicholas Brown (2020).
Anne, her mother, and sister Mary, immigrated to Canada in 1947 after the Second World War, coming first to Altona, Manitoba and then settling in Winnipeg. She met and married Jacob Wiebe and together they worked to build a happy life. Anne was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family at home and at the cottage. She also enjoyed hobbies such as baking, sewing and gardening, leaving us with many happy memories of those activities.
The family also wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Concordia Place for their care.
A family service will be held at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens at a date to be determined.
