ELLEN SIGURDSON
Ellen was born at Hnausa, Manitoba on May 25, 1937 to Ellis and Clara Einarson. Mom leaves to mourn her children, Ellis, Craig (Leslie), and Kathy, her grandchildren, Amber, Ashley, Afton, James (Bethany),
David, Sherilyn, and Kristin, sisters, Bernice and Sigga, brother-in-law Raymond, and
numerous nephews and nieces. Mom was also great-grandmother to Summer, Jordan,
Logan, Lilly, Badger, Elena, and Alexander.
She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Helgi, as well as brother Clarence,
sisters, Begga and Josie, brothers-in-law, Marino, Stoney, Joe, and Kris, sisters-in-law, Elin and Mary, daughter-in-law Brenda, and son-in-law David.
One of mom's fondest memories was as a child sitting on her father's knee singing songs in Icelandic. Mom loved card games of all types, canasta, cribbage, rummy, Skip-Bo, and solitaire to name a few. Although she was foremost wife and mother, she shared
memories of working at the Hnausa store,
Betel and the Leadership Training Centre where she made many friends. Mom also
truly enjoyed the companionship of her many dogs over the years, especially her beloved Joey who was her last. If you wanted mom to smile, you just had to put a baby in her lap. Mom was stronger than she ever knew.
The family would like to thank the IRHA Homecare Team for their support through this difficult time.
At mom's request, there will be no formal service. Cremation has taken place with a
private internment by family at Riverton Cemetery at a later date.
If you so wish, in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Riverton Cemetery
Endowment Fund, Box 505, Riverton, MB
R0C 2R0.
