  • We are so sorry to hear of Sharni's passing. I remember well the drives to and from our rural teaching positions that first year. Sharni and I would talk about teaching positions, our students, our boyfriends, being away from home during the week and everything in between. She was a gentle soul and a loving person. Please extend my and John's condolences to your daughters. The life story in photos was beautiful and certainly showed her beauty and grace. - Posted by: Judy Rempel (High school friend and teaching colleague ) on: May 19, 2020

  • Your passing has touched so many hearts including mine. For all those people including me that got to know you there will always be at least one special memory. • Sharni and I hit it off right from the start. She was such a giving, loving and accepting person. To work with Sharni was such an honour. I had great respect for Sharni inside and outside of the classroom. Every time we would meet at the mall she would have one of her grandchildren with her. Sharni was so happy and I never heard her complain. When we met for lunches it was mostly at Empress, we had a lot of laughs there, and some serious talks. Sharni loved her family, flowers, and people. It is with a sad heart I say so long to Sharni. We will met again in heaven, where she will be tending her garden. • We have been friends with Sharni and Eric since High School and will miss here dearly . although we have lived apart for many years we were always able to pick up where we last were on the previous visit. It was especially nice to spend more time with her when Eric and Sharni had a place in Arizona. We will miss her but never forget her kind and gentle spirit. - Posted by: GORD & CHERYL BAREFOOT (LONG TIME FRIENDS) on: May 10, 2020

  • Sharni and Eric came into our lives the summer of 1975 when we both moved into our new homes on Diamond Street. We became next door neighbours. This was the beginning of a great friendship. Sharni and I also worked together as teachers at Princess Margaret School. We had our children close in age who became constant daily playmates. They shared so many fun times together. From 1975 to 1990 both families had many happy times together. We would like to send our condolences to Eric, Lindsey and Lisa at this time. Thank you for the wonderful time we spent together and the many memories we have of Sharni and her quiet and gentle way. 💕💕 - Posted by: Valerie McDougall (Neighbour / Friend) on: May 09, 2020

  • My heart breaks for Sharon’s entire family. She was like a second mom to me growing up on Diamond Street. I have such amazing memories of playing in the kitchen, our stuffed animal zoo, climbing the big tree in the backyard, going to the cottage and doing a talent show! I will always remember her as a super sweet, caring mom who had the biggest, warmest smile! I have so many memories of my childhood before we moved away that include Sharon’s warm laugh and smile so many memories made playing with Lindsay and Lisa in the living room and in their house and always such a warm and loving house it was. We will keep all of you in our thoughts and prayers. I was so blessed to have seen her when we came to Winnipeg for everyone to meet Ryleigh and it was a great moment of her meeting Ryleigh. Sending lots of love from all of us in Ottawa ❤️❤️❤️❤️ - Posted by: Andreah Shaffer (McDougall) (Family friend ) on: May 09, 2020

  • Sharni was our neighbour and friend when we lived in Winnipeg on Diamond Cres. Our children played with each other and swam in our pool. She was a great lady, kind and thoughtful. Take care Eric. - Posted by: Garry McDougall (Friend and neighbour) on: May 09, 2020

  • We are all sad to hear of Sharni's passing and hope that she left this world comfortably and at peace. Sharni was one of those rare individuals that was loved by everyone she came in contact with. Although it's been many years since we last were together (Brett), I will always have fond memories of Sharni and her wonderful family. - Posted by: Brett and Therese Kops (Cousin) on: May 09, 2020
