RONALD JACOB EPP
September 14, 1947 - May 2, 2020
He will be dearly missed by his children, Cory Epp (Marcie) of Winnipeg and Cari-Lyn Epp (Darwin) of Saskatoon; granddaughters, Olivia Epp of Winnipeg and Kiera Frerichs of Saskatoon; partner of 20 years Christine Mullane; and his many friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Mary.
Ron was born in 1947 in Carman, MB and grew up on a farm near Kane, MB. He moved to Winnipeg after graduating high school where he met and married Mavis Condon in 1968 and they had two children together. Ron and Mavis were divorced and in 1987 he moved to Kitchener, ON, for work. In 2000 Ron moved to Rochester Hills, Michigan, where he met Christine. After retiring in 2008 Ron started spending the winters in the southern United States, finally deciding to settle permanently in Florida in 2014 where he enjoyed the warm weather, riding his motorcycle and getting together with his many friends. He loved having his children, grandchildren and friends visit and he loved to take them to all his favourite restaurants and local attractions.
In early 2019, Ron was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer and thus began a 15 month long courageous battle. During that time he was surrounded by Christine, his children and grandchildren who came to stay with him often, and had numerous visits from his many friends, both near and far. He passed away peacefully in his home in Parrish, Florida, at the age of 72.
A celebration of Ron's life will be held at a later date.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Ron's passing. The last time we spoke his voice sounded stronger and he seemed to be in good spirits so I was taken aback when Chris called me. My heart goes out to Chris and Ron's family for a man we all cherished for his kind and easy-going love of people and life. Life was an adventure for Ron...he never let grass grow under his feet. I loved listening to his many stories...usually dotted with humour. Ron spent vacations with Ted and I, we enjoyed theatre outings, tennis matches, camping, fishing and backyard BBQs. Ron loved photography and always proudly shared pictures of his children and grandchildren. I have not told my spouse, Ted, of Ron's passing because he is terminally ill and in long-term care. I want Ted to remember Ron with fond memories. He knows Ron lives far away from us. Goodbye to our dear friend. I was so saddened to learn of Ron's illness and passing, and wish to express my condolences to his family. He was a key member of a close group of friends who experienced such cherished times with our young families at folk festivals, dance and beach parties, wintertime hikes, camping and singing to music while sitting around a campfire, and playing tennis and badminton. He contributed so much to our enjoyment and camaraderie on each occasion over so many years with his big smile, great sense of humour, and characteristic laugh. Ron will be sorely missed by family and so many friends. - Posted by: Robert Wrigley (Old friend) on: May 09, 2020
