ANNA FUNK
(nee NEUSTAEDTER)

After a short courageous battle with cancer, Anna peacefully went home to her Heavenly Father on May 10, 2020, surrounded by her children.
Anna was predeceased by her parents, Abram and Anna, sister Liese, husbands, Jakob Funk (1990) and Isaac Guenther (2020); and great-grandson Matteo Colosimo.
Anna was born January 29, 1938, in the Mennonite village of Franzfeld, Colonie of Yazakovo, in Ukraine.
In 1943 Anna, her mother Anna and two sisters, fled Ukraine and lived in West Berlin as refugees until 1947. In 1947 they boarded a ship to Paraguay.
It was in Neuland, Paraguay where Anna met Jakob Funk and they were married April 28, 1956. In 1962 they moved to Winnipeg. Anna and Jakob had four children. Sadly, Jakob passed away March, 1990.
Anna met Isaac Guenther and they were married January 2000.
Anna will always be remembered for her strength, faith, love and the ready smile she had for everyone she came into contact with.
She leaves to mourn her children, Erika (John), Adelheid (Phil), Elvira, Jake (Pat), along with 11 grandchildren and their spouses and 15 great-grandchildren. Anna will also sadly be missed by Isaac's children, Brenda, Edna and Lloyd and their families.
The family would like to thank the staff of CancerCare and Palliative Care team and the amazing health care women who came to help us care for Mom for the wonderful support.
There will be a private family funeral and interment May 15, 2020.

We love you MOM / OMA

  • Your mother was always so good to me, I remember her feeding me ice cream on the front steps of your home with Jasha. We moved and I saw her at NK Menenote church Christmas eve service a few years later she had me sit on her lap. I saw her at a funeral not long ago and I got the biggest hug ever. I loved her love she gave out, I loved her hugs, I loved her loud voice, I loved her smile, I LOVED HER, I am so sorry for your loss, I am sad, she was a gem - Posted by: Eric Muehleisen (Friend) on: May 14, 2020
