Hilda grew-up on the family farm in Manitou, Sperling and Steinbach, Manitoba and married the love of her life John in 1951. They started a family in Winnipeg with their sons, Daryl and Kelly and enjoyed many family trips with their RVs and weekends at Star Lake. She also enjoyed working at The Bay, singing in the church choirs and later as a volunteer with the cancer society.
In their later years John and Hilda spent their winter months volunteering at Rio Grande Bible Institute in Texas where Hilda helped in the kitchen to prepare food for the other volunteers, the food bank for the local community and knitting many items for the local children.
Her faith was a central part of her life and she looked forward to being in heaven.
A memorial service will be arranged at a later date.
