It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Stanley Choy on May 11, 2020, at the age of 37.
Stan will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his common law wife Michelle, precious son Cayden; loving parents, Muoi and Keung; and the best little brother Nick; many aunts and uncles, Chi, Lan, Ngoc, Cuc, Vy, Minh, Phuoc; and numerous cousins, and lifelong friends, Ashwin Kadaba, Nathan Carrigan, Mike Boychuck, Mike Ferreira, Jeff Sheid, Ryan Dueck, Keri Telford, Matt Manitowich, Adam Boughton.
Stan was born December 6, 1982, at Misericordia Hospital and eleven years later he was so happy to be blessed with a baby brother who he proudly named himself. Growing up Stan had many hobbies: speed swimming, Muoi Thai kickboxing, attending as many UFF events as possible and most recently fishing. He loved his fishing.
Michelle and Stan met 17 years ago at a house party hosted by her friend's brother, and the rest was history. It took four years for her to give him the chance that he wanted and when she finally did, there was no separating the two. They experienced many adventures together including trips to the Dominican, Mexico, and many Renaissance fairs in Minneapolis. They shared a love for animals which showed through their pets, Oliver the cat, and Ari the French bulldog. After years of living together, they decided the next step was to purchase a cabin in Nestor Falls which is where you would find them spending their time with family and friends in the summer months, fishing and making the place their sanctuary.
After years of trying for a baby, Stan and Michelle were blessed with their miracle baby, Cayden Remy Choy. After only seven months, Cayden decided he couldn't wait any more and came into this world two months early. Stan and Michelle spent all their time at St. Boniface Hospital in the NICU helping Cayden grow into the healthy beautiful boy he is today. Thinking back, it was a blessing he came early as Stan was able to be there for Cayden's first birthday.
Funeral service is limited to immediate family and close friends and a Celebration of Life will follow at the later date.
