Thank you to the neighbours on Riley Crescent, Trevor, Marie and Carmela. They cared and were wonderful to Bernice. Bernice said she was blessed and God was good to her.
Bernice worked several years at the Airliner and Ramada Inn. She really enjoyed her yard and beautiful flowers and won 1st prize in a competition. She was so proud.
Bernice had a great singing voice and her favourite song which she sang to us, was The Old Rugged Cross. She would also phone on everyones birthday and sing Happy Birthday to them.
It has been a tough 2020, losing three sisters, Lily, Marge and Bernice in just over two months.
Thanks to Riverview for the loving care that was given to Bernice. They all adored her.
A celebration of her life to follow when the time is right.

Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • Will miss Bernice as she was one of the first neighbours we met when we moved across the back lane in 2003. She would call one of the kids over to water plants, pull weeds or fix her TV remote when not working. Created 17 wonderful years of memories. - Posted by: Warren (Neighbour) on: Jun 08, 2020

  • Bernice was my backyard neighbour for 14 years. As I got to know her I quickly learned her catch phrase for everything. “Thank you Jesus”. She used to say to me the more you thank Him the more he helps you. I know she was filled with peace because of this near the end if her life she would tell me. “I’m full of cancer but I have no pain” then of course the catch phrase “thank you Jesus”. I learned to love Bernice she was such a beautiful person. She watched me raise my children across the back lane and sometimes she would tell me I was giving her a heart attack with my little one Ben as he would do daredevil things like climb on the roof. I’m so grateful to have crossed paths with Bernice in my life, she will always be a source of faith and strength and a cherished friend. I know Bernice will have a BIG smile on her face when she sees her maker and her dear sweet Lyle. My condolences to Debbie and family. May your pain be dulled by the fact that you loved deeply. • So very saddened to hear of Bernice's passing. I used to live in the corner house on Wicklow, right across the street from Bernice and we used to go back and forth, sharing afternoon visits. She was a wonderful friend and such fun to spend time with. May you find peace and comfort in your memories of her. Our loss is heaven's gain . . . - Posted by: Lois Middleton (Neighbourhood Friend) on: May 23, 2020

  • Condolences to all. 2020 has been a terrible year for the Warnuk family. Bernice & I go back. A few years. We lived in the Ft. Garry in the early 70’s and Beanie and I would get together and make perogies for all the holidays. I find it so hard to believe my beautiful family are all gone. Lily, Margie and Beanie. All in one year. So very sad - Posted by: Lucille Freeman (Cousin) on: May 23, 2020
