LAWRENCE ALLAN MITCHELL
March 29, 1934 - May 14, 2020
Dad (Mitch) will be sorely missed by his loving wife of 63 years, Marlene, and their four daughters, Maxine (Brian), Laurie, Brenda (Rod) and Gail (John); his loving grandchildren, Ryan (Bianca), Chantalle (Marc), Natina (Sheldon), Nathan, Will, Mitchell (Amanda), Samantha (Duane) and James (Jessica); along with nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Eileen Molnar and Audrey MacDonald; sisters, Kay and Linda (Brian); brother Herald (Lynn); and numerous friends, Bart and Jules; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Dad will now soar high with the eagles and the numerous (too many to mention) persons that predeceased him.
Mitch served our country for 27 years - including a peace keeping tour to Cyprus. He then went on to work for Bristol Aerospace until his retirement in 1992. Papa loved to garden and also shared it with everyone. Bowling, fishing and playing the VLTs were some of his favourite pastimes but the two most favourites were cooking and baking. His carousel cookie jar was always full of peanut butter cookies and we all knew it. Dad was a great provider and took great pride in his ability to do so well for his beautiful girls. He will be missed greatly and memories will be cherished in our hearts forever.
As per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grace Hospice in his honour.
Rest well Dad/ Mitch/ Papa.
We love you so much.
We have lost our soul's companion
A life linked with our own
And day by day we miss him more
As we walk through life alone.
