1972 -2020
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a father, son, brother and uncle, Barry Shaun Mulvenny, on Thursday, May 20, 2020, at 47 years of age.
Shaun was born on June 15, 1972, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and was raised by his mother Sharon Mulvenny and his father Barry Mulvenny whom always kept him grounded in life. He was the youngest of three children and would always be the butt of the joke for his older sisters, Maureen and Shannon; being the two youngest kids in the family Shaun and Shannon created a special and unbreakable bond which carried into their adult lives, with many special memories especially at their favourite place, the family's Lester Beach cottage.
Growing up Shaun's interests included playing hockey at East End Community Centre, being an avid Star Wars fan, going to the family cabin, and being a Momma's Boy. As a child he was spontaneous, free-willed, and always made others around him laugh.
Shaun settled in Transcona where he raised his son, and pride and joy, Brandon Mulvenny. Shaun was a superhero in Brandon's eyes and the memories they made together will be forever cherished.
Shaun spent his whole career of 28 years at IBM in various roles, building a lot of strong friendships with his IBM family. His love of travel lead Shaun on many adventures, including many trips to Puerto Vallarta to visit his mom and dad as snowbirds, trips to Wonderland and Disney World. Shaun will always be fondly remembered for his big dreams and kind heart.
Shaun will be forever loved by his son Brandon, father Barry, mother Sharon, sisters, Maureen (Dave) Wright and Shannon (Russell) Govereau, and his nieces and nephews, Christal, Russell, Jessica, Kieran, Katelyn, Kayley and Jenny.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Park Manor Care Home where his beloved mother currently resides.
