JOHN A. KLASSEN
March 19, 1928 - May 20, 2020

Peacefully on May 20, John's prayers were answered and he went to meet his Lord and Saviour at the Concordia Hospital in Winnipeg in his 92nd year.
He leaves behind his sons, Daryl (Susan) and Kelly (Sandi); their five grandchildren, Jason (Melissa), Lindsey (Jesse), Samantha, Selena and Zackary; their three step-grandchildren, Tiffany, Amanda and Rachel; their great-granddaughter Delta, and their great-step-grandson Oliver.
John was predeceased by his loving wife Hilda; parents, Jacob and Annie, stepmother Elizabeth and sister Nancy Hourd; brothers and sisters-in-law, Marten (Olive) Braun, Henry (Eva) Braun, Abram (Justine) Braun, David, Wilhelm (Susan) Braun, Olga (Peter) Penner, Bernhard (Katie) Braun, George (Anne) Braun, Peter (Jean) Braun, John (Florence) Braun and Thomas (Sue) Braun. John will be missed by his sister Marie Dueck, and his nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law Lydia (Barton) Crundwell, Anne Braun, Sue Braun, 55 nieces and nephews and their spouses and families, and many friends.
John was born in Winnipeg and at three weeks old he was adopted by his parents in Southern Manitoba. Soon after the family moved to Northern Alberta for a few years and then returned to Southern Manitoba where he later met and married the love of his life, Hilda in 1951. They started a family in Winnipeg with their sons, Daryl and Kelly and enjoyed many family trips with their RVs and weekends at Star Lake. He built many houses in Winnipeg, was a partner in a successful window manufacturing company, a real estate agent, a garage operator and retired as a carpenter, doing what he loved to do, woodwork.
In their later years John and Hilda spent their winter months volunteering at Rio Grande Bible Institute in Texas where John made furniture for the classrooms, dorms and residences on campus. John was also instrumental in establishing Rio Grande Canada.
His faith was a central part of his life and he looked forward to being in heaven and joining his wife Hilda, of 68 years.
A memorial service for John and Hilda will be arranged at a later date.
