STEPHEN J. LINDSEY/POKOLINSKI

Stephen Lindsey/Pokolinski, affectionately known as Steve, of Desert Hot Springs, California, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2020, after reaching the age of 79. After years of battling cancer on and off, he died peacefully at Desert Regional Medical Center.
He was born to parents, Stefan and Anna Pokolinski on March 9, 1941, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He was married to Patricia L. Lindsey, the love of his life, in 1960, who survives him. Steve is also survived by sons, James and wife Lynne, Richard and wife Pamela, and Michael, as well as nine grandchildren.
As a young man Steve worked a variety of jobs, eventually starting a career in the textile industry as a cost accountant working his way up to vice president for Tan Jay. This job created an opportunity for Steve and his family to move from Canada to California. In the early 1980s Steve broke away from Tan Jay to start a new venture into entrepreneurship during which time he owned and ran several businesses including a physical therapy registry, a moving storage installation company, and a collectable exchange.
Steve was known for his love of old Hollywood, American history, and his dedication to work and his family. As a patriarch he was very involved with his family, being generous with his help, wisdom, and care.
