Condolences & Memories (10 entries)

  • I wanted to extend my sincere condolences to the entire Paul's family. Darryl and I had conducted business together and he belonged to an executive council where we shared many things in common. It was with a heavy heart to learn that Darryl had passed so suddenly and I am certain he is in good hands now. I will miss you Darryl and again I wish the entire family my belated condolences & will keep him in our families prayers. - Posted by: Ross Roy (Business ) on: Jun 16, 2020

  • I Did not know Darryl was sick until few days before he died. His email he sent to His basketball buddies had a very profound affect on me. I'm almost 65 yrs old and I've had probably more than my fair share of cancer deaths of friends and family. Darryl's death has hit me particularly hard. I can't even recall how many years of Wed night basketball I've played with him. What I can recall and treasure is how He always smiled, asked for a story about your vacation, always kind, joking, and compassionate. He never had a bad word to say. Never in a bad mood, or confrontational while playing. If I were to try and emulate his mannerisms I would become a better man. My biggest regret is that after sending him an email on May 30th, I received a notification that one of my email addresses failed. Now I don't know if He received my words of appreciation before He died. God bless you my friend and someday we'll shoot some hoops together again. • I am so sorry to hear of Darryl's passing. Darryl was a hard worker, always pleasant, friendly, and would go that extra mile. I know he will be missed by all. This world is not our home, we are all just passing through, may the footsteps we leave be a promise to follow him into eternity. Till we meet again and I know we will, blessings and prayers for peace to all the family. Delores - Posted by: Delores Margerison (co-worker with Darryl while at Palliser and EQ3) on: Jun 08, 2020

  • Met Darryl when I was 16. He was my first mentor and instrumental in who I am today. I am honoured and grateful to have known him and have learned from him and Gord during those summers at EQ3. My deepest condolences to all who knew him and were part of his life. I will remember him with respect and appreciation, always. -Felix - Posted by: Felix (Co-worker) on: Jun 08, 2020

  • I knew Darryl and Rob quite well back in our Winnipeg days. Darryl was in our Bible Study group along with Beatrice. We had our first pets, cats. Darryl would imitate our male cat watching water drip in the bathtub. Our condolences to Bea, Rob, and Irwin and family. - Posted by: Gerry Teigrob (Friends) on: Jun 07, 2020

  • What a tremendous loss to us all. Always a smile on his face and that ability to make us all laugh. A great guy to work for and with. My heart goes out to Irene, Irwin, Beatrice, Rob and all his family & friends. He is missed. - Posted by: Steve (Friend from Klassen's) on: Jun 07, 2020

  • Darryl looked me up in Edmonton in December 2018. We hadn't seen each other in 28 years so it was good that we each shared a picture of each other before meeting. We chatted for hours, sharing common memories from many years ago. I appreciated Darryl's honest approach to life, himself, and others. We had a great evening. I miss you my friend. - Posted by: Stuart Schroeder (friend) on: Jun 06, 2020
