WILLIAM JAMES ALEXANDER (JIM)
BLAKE
1934 - 2020

It is with deep sadness that the family of William James Alexander Blake "Jim" announce his passing on June 8, 2020, at the age of 86.
He is survived by his true love of 64 and one-half years, Martha Blake "Marty"; daughter Janice Blake-Uglanica and her husband Chris Uglanica.
Jim is predeceased by his parents, William and Grace; sisters, Elizabeth Blake, Margaret Fawcett and Ethel Strong; nephew Jerry Fawcett and niece Maureen Wiley.
Jim was a Freemason with Patricia Lodge, Al Shamal Shriner and a Shriner Clown "Buzz". He worked for the CNR to get his machinist papers then went on to work for Air Canada for 34 years. He was a hard worker and lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed many activities such as, curling, skiing, golfing, fishing and travelling abroad. For 19 years Jim and Marty were snowbirds and would go to Yuma, AZ, where they would volunteer their time at the Yuma Lakes C.R.A Park. He was always willing to lend a hand to those in need and volunteered for may organizations in his community. Jim will be greatly missed by all who knew him and will be forever in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Al Shamal Shriner's Transportation Fund, 14510-142 Street, Edmonton, AB, T6V 1H9 as this cause was dear to his heart.
A celebration of his life will be done at a later date due to COVID 19.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Jerzy Bialczak, Dr. Imran Chaudhry and the staff at the Sturgeon Hospital, Unit 15.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Jim and Marty were very good friends to my parents Jim and Joy Matthewman and spent alot of time together many years ago. I recount many happy memories shared with Jim and Marty, also whenever they could they would touch base on how life was going. Not sure why but my dad fondly called Jim Snagglepuss and Jim called my dad the same. I hope the two Jims have met up in heaven and are sharing sometime together. Very sorry for your loss Marty and family and hope you are comforted by the memories you all share. - Posted by: Al and Corie Siddle Matthewman (family friends) on: Jun 15, 2020
