GRIETJE (GRACE) JOHANNA
RUECKERT
June 11, 1927 - June 10, 2020
Mom is survived by her husband of 66.99 years Manfred; children, Alfred Rueckert (Jeanne) of Winnipeg, Alvin Rueckert (Zenda) of Beausejour, Nancy Sharpe of Beausejour, and Debbie Remple (Darron) of Steinbach. Also brother John Broek (Gisella), and sisters, Bernadine Mueller, and Agnes Hiller (Eddy), as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Marg; son Gerhard; brothers Okko and Hermann; and sisters, Gretchen, Hermina, and Jannet.
Mom was born in Warsingsfehn, Germany. Mom and Dad immigrated to Canada in 1954 from Germany and settled in Whitemouth, MB where they lived until 2003. They then moved to Beausejour where they resided until July of 2019 when they moved into East Gate Lodge.
Her family was very important to her and she was an amazing cook. Mom learnt her culinary skills while in Germany. Her recipes were precious to her, ones that she never shared with anyone. She also had a love for vehicles; she purchased every vehicle Mom and Dad ever had. She was a wonderful money manager and she knew how to stretch the dollar. As a family, we always had what we needed and that was because of her frugal ways, and love for her family. She was a kind woman that loved to laugh, and her smile will be sadly missed.
We love you Mom, enjoy your new home.
