ROSE MARK

Far too soon, we lost Rose Marie Mark (nee Warcaba) suddenly at her home on Monday, June 1, 2020.
She was predeceased by her husband Bill Mark; her first born son Bill Mark Jr., parents, Nick and Anne Warcaba; brother David Warcaba and brother-in-law Graham Low. She leaves to mourn her children, Jacqueline (Rick), Corina, Robert (Sharon); grandchildren, Victoria (Ryan), Robert (Jasmine), Alycia and Christopher; and "her boys" great-grandsons, Quinn and Roman. She also leaves behind her sister Teenie, nephews, nieces, cousins, and many friends, some of whom she had known since childhood.
Rose was born December 7, 1942, and raised in the north end. She met her husband in December, 1959, and got married in August, 1960. Rose and Bill settled in their house in Crestview in May, 1965, and she remained there until her death. Rose loved her house and did not want to leave it, so in the end she got her way.
Rose was a shy child, so she spent her life watching those around her. She was a voracious reader and storyteller in her own right. Rose's greatest thrill as a child was when she was able to go to the library on her own to get more books. She passed her love of a good story on to her children.
Rose and Bill loved Canada, taking their children camping coast to coast, visiting family along the way. She also travelled to other parts of the world both with her husband and her daughter. One of her biggest regrets was that her declining physical limitations meant her travels were curtailed before she completed her bucket list of places to see.
Rose was a huge sports fan, and one game or another would often be on her television. She was a longtime season ticket holder with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Rose was ecstatic with their Grey Cup Championship this past season. She never missed a televised Blue Jays game and was thrilled to be able to attend a few of them in Toronto.
Family was the most important thing in Rose's life. She loved cooking for them and looked forward to her weekly Tuesday night dinners. The Covid-19 pandemic was very hard for her as it curtailed these dinners. Fortunately, she was able to see everyone for what turned out to be her last dinner before her passing, getting hugs from her boys.
The family would like to thank Dr. Roksana Sultana for her diligent care of their mom through the years. Because of her, we had our mother longer than was expected.
According to Rose's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will occur when it is allowed.
Meanwhile, donations may be made in her memory to the Manitoba Burn Fund, Habitat for Humanity, Heart & Stroke Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
