DEYMON GREGORY GEORGE JOSEPH CRETAIN

On June 5, 2020, Deymon Gregory George Joseph Cretain lost his battle against depression and addiction. We are honouring his life by speaking his truth.
At 21 years of age, Deymon had great potential to reach the goals he set out for himself. The love and support of family and friends just wasn't enough to make him believe it.
Deymon was loved and cherished by many who had the pleasure of meeting him. He was a unique, fun loving guy. When Deymon loved, he loved hard. He never judged without knowing someone's truth or faults. Even knowing their truth and faults, he had a gift to see beyond them.
We cannot even begin to describe the many people that will deeply miss his presence: mom and dad, Tanya and Curtis; father Gary; two sisters, Danielle and Kenzie; brother Owen; grand-pa George; grand-ma Alice; grand-pa Chris; aunties and uncles, Sandra and Desmond, Jackie and Robin, Jeremiah and Lori, Michael and Karin, and Michelle. He will also be missed by numerous cousins, great-aunties, great-uncles, many friends, and his teachers and coaches over the years. He has touched an endless amount of lives.
Deymon was welcomed in Heaven by his best friend and grand-ma Henriette. Their bond they had was like nothing we've seen before.
We have so much more to say about Deymon as his life was full of memories and always used to say "YOLO"!!! He sure did...
Lastly, due to the COVID pandemic, we're forced to wait before we can give him the going away party he deserves.

WE LOVE AND MISS YOU SO MUCH...

Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • My deepest condolences go out to Deymon's family and friends. I had the pleasure of being Deymon's welding instructor for 2 years. Deymon always brought laughter and positivity into the shop, I can't say that I remember every student that I teach by name, but Deymon is someone that I will never forget. I'm very saddened to see that someone with such an amazing personality, unlimited potential and caring heart has left us this soon. - Posted by: Ryan Koltalo (Deymon's welding instructor ) on: Mar 29, 2021

  • I can’t get you out of my head Deymon. I constantly have the “what if’s, only if, I wish I, I should’ve, I should’ve, and so on.... I shouldn’t have left you out of my sight. I have so many years to go and it’s just so hard to get through each day. I can’t wait to see you again. That will be when my journey begins. I hope I hear from you today. Love you my boy!!! - Posted by: Tanya Cretain (Mother) on: Sep 21, 2020

  • I have been thinking of you every waking moment everything reminds me of you. I just wish I could hold you in my arm again while you cry. When you were born was the first time. June 3,2020 I held you in my arms as you cried. June 5th was the last day I would ever hold you again. My heart is so broken. I find it hard to get through the day. I’m trying to be strong but it seems impossible. Love you infinity and beyond X 2💜💜💜 - Posted by: Tanya Cretain (Mother) on: Aug 11, 2020

  • Deymon was a student of mine in grade 8 at Niverville Collegiate. I remember him as being a talented hockey player with a great sense of humour and lots of charm. We got along well and I wanted so badly for him to believe in himself as much as I believed in him. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends, it breaks my heart that he lost hope so young. - Posted by: Kate Hildebrand (Teacher) on: Jun 15, 2020

  • My heart breaks for you. Such a beautiful tribute to a wonderful human. Thank you for sharing. It is only through sharing that we can move through the stigma of addictions and mental health. Angels stay with their loved ones forever. - Posted by: Verna Adolf (fellow parent) on: Jun 14, 2020

  • Sorry for your loss, my condolences. - Posted by: Stan Batur (My son and daughter’s friend ) on: Jun 14, 2020

  • My sincerest condolences to his mother Tanya and to his best friend Mia on their loss of a young man who continues to live in so many hearts. Mia, who was like a sister to him, loved visiting with him (and making her opinions known in a loving way) and watching him play with his dog. He was so proud that she too was graduating this year from Institut collegial Vincent Massey Collegiate. Loved by many teachers for his charm, he will continue to hold a sweet spot in our hearts. A deep thinker, he had many talks with Mia about his future and how hers was moving forward. His angel wings which he wore on his neck, are now free to fly. - Posted by: Mona-Lynne Ayotte (Teacher) on: Jun 13, 2020
