December 20, 1936 - June 12, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father and grandfather, Tommaso, on Friday, June 12, 2020, at the age of 83 years.
Tom was born in Amato, Italy. In 1952 he came to Canada, where he built a wonderful life for himself and his family.
Tom worked in the garment industry for many years, till he retired in 1997. Tom enjoyed his garden, his roses were his pride and joy. He was a "mall walker", a member of several gyms in Winnipeg, loved watching sports, especially football and soccer. He enjoyed listening to music. Opera music was his favourite. He had many wonderful memories of travelling all over the world with his wife, Helen, and his friends, Raymon and Doreen, and brother, Mario and Connie.
Tom passed away peacefully, with his daughter, Doreen, by his side. Tom's wife, Helen, predeased him in 2012. He will be sadly missed by his loving daughters, Mary (Guy), Doreen (Ian); and his five grandsons, Jan-Michael, Cory, Jared, Mitchell, and Sean; his brothers, Joseph (Adalgisa) and Angelo (Shannon); and many nephews and nieces. His brothers, Mario and Pasquale; and sister, Florence Periera; father, Donnato; and mother, Maria, all predeceased him.
Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave., Winnipeg, MB. Condolences will be offered at 10:00 a.m., Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Father Sam Agenziano presiding. Entombment will follow immediately at the Holy Angels Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parkinson Society of Manitoba.
Big thanks goes out to the loving staff at the Vista Park Lodge Personal Care Home in St. Vital.

  • Dear Mary and Doreen, Your parents and I became friends when your folks moved into their home in East St. Paul. Your Dad loved to walk through the neighborhood and we would chat. He very much enjoyed and took pride in his yard. So sad to hear of his passing. May God be your comfort and may your memories be sweet. With sympathy, Elfriede - Posted by: Elfriede Kuenstler (Neighborhood Friend) on: Jun 13, 2020
