  • So sorry to read of the loss of Don. I have told many people about him over the years. My daughter Lori and her friend Monique were lucky to have him as a baseball coach many years ago. He was a shining example of what sports and coaching could be. He encouraged everyone, had them try different positions in the field, played all the players in rotation- good or bad - and was loved and respected by the whole team. I remember at the first meeting he told the girls he did a rotation basis “because if you’re good you don’t need the practice and if you’re not as good you won’t get better if you don’t play”. His daughter Kathy was one of the best players on the team and he would have had every right to take advantage of her skill but he treated everyone equally. They won the championship that year and I’ve always believed it was as much about the team spirit as it was about playing ability. I know he will be missed by many people who knew him well, but Lori and I have never forgotten him. - Posted by: Yvonne Miller (Acquaintance) on: Jun 15, 2020
