(nee SHIELDS)
Mizpah - May god keep watch over you and me while we are apart, one from the other.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of beloved wife and mother, Jean Robinson. Jean passed peacefully in her sleep in Winnipeg on June 18, 2020. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Ervin; her daughter Kit (Kristen) Houston (Donald); son Scott Robinson (Lynne); daughter Paige Harms (Bruce). Over the years, Jean and Ervin's family grew. Each and every grandchild brought her joy. She will be dearly missed by Blake Houston (Erica), Sarah Houston (Andrew Okenwa), Claire Robinson, Brianna Harms (Liam Ginter) and her great-granddaughter Amara Okenwa; the light of her life!
Jean was born in 1941 in Ridgedale, Saskatchewan. Her parents, Florence and Howard Shields, moved them to Atikokan, Ontario, where she attended school with her brothers, Ralph and Gary (both predeceased). After high school, Jean worked in medical clinics. She met the love of her life, Ervin in 1962 and they married in Atikokan on June 15, 1963. Given the nature of Ervin's employment, the couple moved seven times in 20 years. Jean took great pride in making a warm and loving home for her family with every move.
In her youth, Jean and her brother Ralph were known by all for their love of dance, especially the jive! Later, Jean and Erv planned family camping trips which included exploring and gathering of natural 'treasures.' Jean loved creating arts and crafts and had a passionate talent for painting. She leaves behind a legacy built on the love of beauty and the sanctity of family.
The family would like to express gratitude to the staff and caregivers at Tuxedo Villa Care home.

Unfortunately this is the first I heard of my friend's passing. Jean and I go back many years when we lived across the street from one another. We remained friends and could pick up the phone and continue a conversation we started a few years before. My deepest sympathy to Erv and their children. Rest In Peace my friend.
