FRANKLIN AUGUST THIDRICKSON
He was predeceased by his wife Ida in 2017, and son Blair in 2016. Surviving him are his sons, Murray, Gregory (Deb), Craig (Elaine), daughter-in-law Lydia and his sister Elizabeth Kamer. Also mourning his loss are his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as many other relatives and friends.
Franklin was a founding member of the Netley Community Hall and served on the board for many years. If something needed to be fixed, you would find him there taking care of it. So it was fitting that he won the RM of St. Andrews' award for volunteer of the year.
He grain farmed while raising four sons with Ida. He enjoyed trapping and hunting, but his favourite pastime was fishing. In his later years, he enjoyed spending time at South Beach Casino.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Gimli Community Heath Centre for his care.
Cremation has taken place and no service will be held because of the current pandemic. The family hopes to hold a luncheon in the future.
