It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gerald Cheater, after a brief illness with family by his side on June 27, 2020, at the age of 81.
Left to mourn his passing are his loving wife of 55 years, Patricia, daughter Heather (Monte), son Trevor (Shannon), grandchildren, Hailey (Drew), Collin, Brandyn, Dylan; and great-grandchildren, Kayleigh-Mae, Knight, Kinzley and Grayson.
Gerald lived with a love of family and friends throughout his lifetime, showing an early passion for fishing as a young man and for golf later on in life. Gerald will be sadly missed by his family and all who had the pleasure to know him.
A private Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a later date.

Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • We were both 12 years old when Gerry arrived at St Joe's. Our biggest kick together was the forbidden smoke. The more we got caught, the more interesting ways we discovered to circumvent our supervisors. Our one love was biking along Portage Ave. The old place has been torn down but the memories will last as long as I live. - Posted by: RICHARD MCISAAC (Gerald was my best friend for the years together at St Joseph's. i was shocked to see his passing. ) on: Apr 03, 2021

  • I was shocked and sadden to have read of Mr. Cheater's passing. He did my personal and corporate taxes for almost 25 years. I always appreciated the business relationship we had. He was great to work with and while I understood his wanting to retire I can't say it was easy to find another accountant to take his place. My condolences to the family for your loss. - Posted by: Kevin Markevich (Client) on: Jul 04, 2020
