ROGER CHURKO
August 1, 1957 June 27, 2020
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 30 years, Susan; son Zane; daughter Randi; his dog Buddy; as well as his sister Terry; and many cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, June and Ziggy, in 2005.
Roger was a dedicated employee of Canada Post for 37 years. He spent much of his time being outdoors, working on home renovations and fixing things. His work ethic encouraged us to always do our best.
Roger owned a number of motorcycles and rode for over 45 years. He could hardly wait for the season to begin, soaking up the fresh air and miles of scenery on the open road. He loved camping with his family every summer, especially at Falcon Lake.
Roger loved all kinds of social events and truly was the life of the party. He was charming, goofy, gentle and very witty. We miss him so much!
A memorial service will be planned at a later date. Condolences and memories may be left on his tribute wall at mackenziefh.com

My sincerest condolences to the Churko family. Roger and I became good friends after our careers at Canada Post as we would work out at the same gyms during our retirement. At times there would be more story telling than actually working out. Over the last 2 years, Roger on occasion would ride his Harley to my place at Lake Manitoba just to go for a ride and spend a couple of hours on the beach. Sure gonna miss you Roger. - Posted by: Bob Burkitt (Friend) on: Jul 09, 2020

I was very saddened to read about Roger in today's newspaper. The Churko's lived just a few houses down from us on Renfrew Street. I spent many hours with Roger's sister Terry and at their home , teasing and playing with Roger. A few years ago, Roger was delivering mail, I believe in Charleswood, and we had a quick chat. I have fond memories of June and Zig, Terry and Roger! Peace and condolences to all! Sincerely, Marsha Birnie - Posted by: Marsha Birnie (friend) on: Jul 09, 2020

We were deeply saddened by this loss. Roger and Susan opened their home to me several times while I travelled to Winnipeg for my brother Dennis and his cancer battle. I saw first hand Roger’s heart for family and friends. Their warmth and generosity will never be forgotten. I have fond memories of Roger at the annual Churko family BBQ’s at their home and family Christmas get-togethers at Auntie Ann & Uncle Charlie’s home. (Still don’t know how we all fit in their home that night). Roger, you will be missed and our condolences are with all his loved ones. - Posted by: Andy & Carol Cheslock (Cousin) on: Jul 04, 2020

Susan and family, the world is a much emptier place with the passing of Roger. Lil and I were truly shocked and saddened. First met Rog when he was delivering our post on Municipal Rd. Spent a lot of time chatting on a daily basis. Later on, I would bump into him when he would be in his driveway, he would be beaming about what mods he did to his motorcycle or some other project he had on the go or done. Couldn't meet a nicer guy! I am sure you have many, many great memories, cherish them always. - Posted by: Rick and Lil Koch (Friend) on: Jul 04, 2020
