Marg was born in Winnipeg on September 25, 1926 and attended Lord Roberts and Kelvin Schools. Marg married Ted Lacey in June 1953 and then moved to Virden, Manitoba in 1954. Ted was a hardware man and went into partnership in McBain's Hardware Store. Marg and Ted lived on a small farm they bought north of Virden. Marg was a legal secretary for a Virden law firm until her retirement in 1986.
Marg is survived by sister Bea (Attree); sons, Bruce (Elizabeth), David and Paul (Claudette); grandchildren, Bennett, Matthew, Brandon, Kristin, Nathan, Michelle, Stephanie, Sindy, Ryan, Christine, and David, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Marg was predeceased by her husband Ted; parents, James and Lillian Mitchell; her brothers, Jack and Jim; sisters, Leila (Littlewood) and Joyce (Lloyd); and daughter-in-law Susan.
During Marg's younger years she enjoyed singing in the St. Albans Church Choir with her sisters, and later in St. Mary's Church Choir in Virden. After Ted's death Marg moved into Virden and enjoyed socializing with her many friends and acquaintances.
After suffering a stroke in 2009, Marg moved into Dakota House in Winnipeg. She enjoyed her many new friends there and her best friend and sister Joyce (Lloyd).

To Margaret Lacey's Family : Our thoughts go back to July 1960 when we first met Margaret and Ted and their three boys. Little did we know how much this couple would figure in our lives over the next 60 years. Our families joined together in sporting activities, Christmas dinners, fishing trips and birthdays. Their door was always open to our drop-in visits as we made our way home from town activities. We could always count on their help and Margaret's cheerful welcomes. There are nothing but good memories for us when we think of 'The Lacey's'. May she rest in peace, knowing that she was loved and respected for her amazingly positive approach to life -Good bye, Margaret, we will never forget you.
