It is with heavy hearts that we share the sudden loss of our beloved Perry on June 29, 2020.
Perry was born on August 7, 1957 in Leask, Saskatchewan. He later moved with family to Saskatoon where he completed his schooling. Although Saskatchewan born, he called Winnipeg home for over 30 years.
He was predeceased by his parents, Percy and Emma Lenz; his sister Shirley Laroque; his brothers-in-law, Gordon Nesdoly and Wes Laroque; his nephew Eddy Nesdoly, and his great-niece Dallyce Gartner. He is survived by siblings, Gilbert (Annette) Lenz, Marion (Lyle) Dhuez, Irene Nesdoly and Wilfred Lenz; sister-in-law Theresa MacKinnon; and many nieces and nephews.
During his career in tourism and hospitality services, he touched many lives with his professionalism, unique humour and big heart. He will be lovingly remembered by his family and many dear friends. His "Winnipeg family" was his circle of love, support and care, particularly as he dealt with health challenges.
Perry dearly loved his cats, Ethel and Lucy. It brought him joy to be with friends, playing cards, going to the casino or sharing a meal.
Our sincerest thanks to Cathy and Cheryl for everything they did for Perry!
His laughter, saucy wit and love of life will be forever in our hearts!!!

  • My condolences to Perry's family at this time, it is so sad to hear of his passing. I worked with Perry throughout his employment at The Marlborough Hotel and found him a great man to work with. • Perry and I were best friends starting in grade 4 when they moved to Saskatoon from Leask, and then through school and a bit afterward. We worked together at the King George Hotel in Saskatoon during grade 12. I remember Mike S. from those days as well (hope you're doing well). We didn't really stay in touch since he moved to Winnipeg but Perry was very often in my thoughts and prayers. I remember Perry and I playing midi basketball with Wilf as our coach, as well I remember the love Perry had for all his siblings in those days. Perry was very kind-hearted and my life was enriched through his friendship. I just wish I could have told him so before his passing. My deepest condolences for all Perry's family and friends; I know he will be sorely missed. - Posted by: Cam Merkle (Old friend and school buddy) on: Jul 08, 2020

  • My deepest condolences to the Lenz family. I just got the news from Larry Macauley about Perry's passing. May Perry REST IN PEACE! - Posted by: Mike Soroka (old friend,Friend ship) on: Jul 08, 2020

  • Sending my sincere condolences to all Perry’s family and friends. Perry and I worked together in the hotel industry and were good friends. We had a fabulous vacation together in South America, along with my parents plus an aunt and uncle. My family members loved Perry and very much enjoyed his sense of humour. Perry had us in stitches the entire 2 weeks. Sadly, due to a misunderstanding that was never resolved, we were estranged. I am sad that we missed so much time together. Rest in peace friend. Love Sharon aka ‘Old Woman’ (Perry’s nick name for me) - Posted by: Sharon Romanoff (Friend and previous coworker ) on: Jul 07, 2020

  • Perry and I met and worked together at the Ramada Marlborough Hotel in Winnipeg. Within the first few minutes of meeting, we realized we would be friends for a long time being we couldn't stop laughing at each others comments. He always said I was a bad influence on him as he was "sweet and innocent." Perry emotionally supported me through an abusive relationship and I was never able to thank him enough. When I moved to Toronto, he visited me several times. October, 2019, I got an email from him where I dropped everything and went to him. I didn't know that was the last I was going to see him. His Ontario friends are saddened by his loss. All the Best to all his family and friends. - Posted by: Jerry Peacock (Over 20yrs Best Friends ) on: Jul 07, 2020
