If still alive, Gerry, Angele's husband and our dad, would be 100 years old today. We all miss him and cherish his memory. He was a good man who loved his family and friends. Dad knew the secret to happiness: want what you have. Oh, and he also knew (and tried to teach us) "it will take you one minute to put something away where it
belongs and an hour to find it if you didn't", "if you're not ten minutes early than you're late" and "if it doesn't hurt then you're not saving
enough". Dad never wanted to say
goodbye, he would tell us "no goodbyes, see you later", which we suspect may be a poignant reminder of what he learned at the front lines during the Second World War. We are all lucky to have known him; no one knows that more than Angele who still says often
"We had a good life".
Who could ask
for more?
