Date of Passing: Jul 02, 2020Offer Condolences or Memory
Dad was predeceased by his wife, Maryann (nee Dickson) in 2005. Dad leaves to mourn his passing his partner, Phyllis; daughters, Jennifer (Miro) and Michelle (David). He will be missed dearly by his grandchildren, Addison, Daphne, Hudson and Jaxon. Dad was predeceased by his mother Edith, father Harry; and siblings, Wendy and Terry.
Dad had a genuine love for his family and had a kind heart and a soft spot for the many furry, four-legged family members we collected over the years. Dad made friends everywhere he went and leaves behind many wonderful friends who will miss him greatly. Dad had a passion for history, airplanes and the shooting range.
We had hoped Dad would have been able to make it out to Winnipeg one more time to visit with his family and friends but sadly fate had other plans for all of us.
Dad, we love you and will miss you
more than words can say.

Condolences & Memories (6 entries)
My condolences to both you and your families Jennifer and Michelle. Your dad came full circle in our lives. From our parents friendship when we were just little ones until your dad and my mom found love together later in life. I will always be thankful for his role in my mom's life. He will be missed with heavy hearts. Cory - Posted by: Cory Ralston (Phyllis' Son) on: Jul 13, 2020
My thoughts are with you Jen, Michelle and families, also Phillis. I’m terribly sorry on your loss. Your dad was a great man. I remember taking with him the last time he was at your house. He seemed very free spirited and happy given all his health issues. He was a fighter and has been through a lot yet came to see his girls and grandkids from so far away. My sincere condolences on the loss. - Posted by: Ewa Flay and family (Sister-in-law to Jennifer ) on: Jul 12, 2020
So Sorry for the lost of a great man. I got to know Rick through Phyllis. He will be missed dearly. R.I.P. Rick - Posted by: Martha O Brien (Friend of Phyllis ) on: Jul 11, 2020
I had hope to get to see Rick this summer but covid had other plans. I remember so well going to the farm in Holland to visit. Mom and Dad would be inside and the kids outside playing. We would listen to Lone Ranger on the radio. Rick always had the biggest smile. Mom (Mabel Dowd) enjoyed his visit last time he was in Manitoba. - Posted by: Linda Odut (First cousin. ) on: Jul 11, 2020
My Deepest Sympathy to Michelle and Jennifer and families. We always had a good visit with your dad and mom when they were in Holland. Kelli and Jackie send their condolences. Dianne DePape Goertzen - Posted by: Dianne DePape Goertzen (friend) on: Jul 11, 2020
My deepest condolences to you Jennifer and Michelle. I remember like it was yesterday when my mom started babysitting for your Mom and Dad. Rick often stopped in for a morning coffee when he wasn’t able to work. His laugh is something I will always remember about him. Big hugs to you girls and your families.
