Condolences & Memories (12 entries)
I just was notified today of Joe’s passing. Firstly, my sincere condolences to Beverly, Dean, Joe Jr. and the entire Torchia family. Joe was the godfather to many of us young supervisors who worked with him in Winnipeg. His help, guidance and personal friendship will never be forgotten. It was my honour to have known him. - Posted by: Ed Bruzzese (Friend) on: Jul 19, 2020

Remembering a lot of fun times together at the cottage and especially Christmas get togethers. Uncle Joe was always extremely generous, and never afraid to tell us how much he loved us. Family was everything to him. So sorry for your loss. Hugs from across the country. Love, Colleen, Greg, Mike and Kerrie xo+ - Posted by: Colleen Loewen (Niece) on: Jul 12, 2020
It was with much heartache that I found out of the passing of Joe. He was such a large part of my younger years, as was the whole family. So many fond memories of time spent in the basement shooting pool, drinking his Crown Royal and replacing it with Five Star! Late nights, early mornings. Please know your whole family has always been in my thoughts and prayers, now more than ever. My condolences to Bev, Karen & Mike, Joe and Frank, and my brother from another mother Dean and his better Cathy. Love you all, wish I could be with you, but know my heart aches along with yours. - Posted by: Steve Lipischak (Friends) on: Jul 11, 2020
Joe was my uncle. I will always remember how he always made us kids feel special. You always knew he loved you unconditionally! Many memories from my childhood with him at their house. I just wish we had seen him more as adults. ❤RIP uncle Joe xo - Posted by: Dena Torchia (niece ) on: Jul 11, 2020

So sorry to hear of Joe's passing. I worked with him in the early 80's as a young Trainmaster learning from the Legend. He was an exceptional teacher and friend and I'm sure he will be missed by all. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family. - Posted by: Bruce and Janet Anderson (Friend) on: Jul 11, 2020
Joe was the Go-To- Guy at Symington (CN). Many, many times I personally asked Joe to handle situations and he was always willing to assist. He had the knowledge and respect of all to bring resolutions to issues. I certainly respected Joe very much. My condolences to the Torchia family. R.I.P. Joe. 🙏🙏 - Posted by: LeRoy Fox (Co-Worker) on: Jul 11, 2020
