Gladys also had four great-grandchildren who put a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eye; Annalise, Everett, Noah and Lena. She is also survived by her brothers, Norman (Mabel), Delmar (Lois), and Jim (Jean); and sister Elsie.
Gladys was predeceased by her husband David in 2011.
Mom was born on August 17, 1935. She lived in Clandeboye for most of her life, moving from the farm in 1998 to the village of Clandeboye until her and Dad moved to Selkirk in 2010. She loved life on the farm and embraced this role. She loved to garden and took pride in her many flowers. Mom started her work life at Great West Life at the age of 18. After she raised her family, Mom returned to work at Revenue Canada, which she retired from at the age of 65.
Mom gave tirelessly to her community and church. She got great satisfaction from donating her time and skills to the causes close to her heart. To name a few, the Clandeboye Skating Club, 4-H Leadership, the establishment of the St. Andrews Heritage Centre, Palliative Care Visitation and many initiatives of the St. George Wakefield Anglican Church. She was also a member of the Rotary Anns Selkirk Chapter and the Red Hats. Mom was a strong believer in doing things well. She was meticulous, organized, passionate and felt compelled to help others in need. She was the best Mom we could ever ask for.
Special thank you to the wonderful staff at Red River Place for providing excellent care to Mom and to the Selkirk Regional Health Centre staff.
A private family service has been held.
