DOREEN MARIE RIVARD
June 12, 1937 - July 3, 2020
Doreen is survived by her husband of 63 years, Lionel; her son Rickey (Johanne); daughters, Brenda-Lee Gagné (Marcel) and Sherri Daher (Jeff); her sister Linda Boone-Ramsay (Alf); her grandchildren, Cory, Jayme, Kyle, Ryan and Danielle; and extended stepgrandchildren, Alex and Jon; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; numerous in-laws; cousins; and friends who meant so much to her.
She was predeceased by her mother Martha Boone and father Charles Boone, her brother Charles and his wife Simone.
Mom was born the oldest of three children in her parents' grocery store in St. Boniface. In 1948 the family moved to Elie where she spent the remainder of her school age years with her siblings and her parents who owned and operated the Elie Hotel.
At 15 years old, Mom met Dad (Lionel) of St. Eustache, the love of her life. She married Dad at 19 and together they showed the world what unconditional love looked like for nearly 64 years.
In 1956 they took over the Elie Hotel until 1960. They then moved to Winnipeg where they built their home and lovingly raised their family. Mom worked so very hard together with Dad to ensure her family was well provided for. They owned and operated Provencher Billiards for over 30 years.
Once retired, Mom spent several years together with Dad enjoying their winter home in Mesa, Arizona and spending quality time with their family and friends. They were rarely seen apart - they are best friends forever. Mom will always be Dad's "Sweetie".
Mom devoted her life to her husband, her children and being the best possible caregiver to her mom. She took great pride in making home the best it could be for her family. It was what made her happy when she took the time to sit back and enjoy life with her loved ones.
She was a great wife, sister, friend, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Many cherished memories will live on forever in our hearts.
Mom will be sorely missed by all whose lives she touched.
"Love you forever and a day"
