July 9, 2020, marks a very sad day as we announce with heavy hearts, the passing of VINCENZA (ENZA) NARDELLA at her home in Lac du Bonnet, MB. At the young age of 77.
Vincenza is survived by her husband of 56 years, Nunzio; daughters, Frances (Stanley), Nancie (Vern), and son Paul. Grandchildren, Coral, Anthony, Johnathon, Emma, and Noah. Predeceased by her first granddaughter Amberly. Predeceased by her parents, Michelle, Francesca; and siblings, Michelina, Sam, and Mario.
Born in Palermo, Sicily, the family followed Grandpa Michelle and immigrated to Canada. Mom worked briefly at Peerless Garments when her mother passed. Being the oldest child at home, Mom became caregiver and mother figure to Michelle and five siblings.
In 1964, Mom met the love of her life and they were married six months later. Starting their life journey together, their first home was in East Kildonan. Mom was a fantastic cook, hosting many family gatherings keeping the family bond. Raising three children, together with Dad, as a family enjoying camping, fishing, playing cards and family trips. Later on, in life with the love of fishing, Mom and Dad moved to Lac du Bonnet, MB, where country living was their next journey. Building this home together, Mom and Dad enjoyed fishing, being members of the local legion, bingo, darts and other functions they could help with.
The family wished to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Nicolas Van Rensburg and the East Interlake Home Care for making Mom's wishes and last few years comfortable and happy.
Funeral service with be on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg, MB.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mom's memory to Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
