MARGARET E. (HAMILTON) HILL

Margaret Emma (Hamilton) Hill passed away on July 5, 2020, at the age of 99.
Margaret is survived by her sons, Bruce (Judy) and Blair (Anne-Marie) as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Melvin, and all of her siblings.
Margaret was born in Cartwright, Manitoba, and attended Hazeldell School. She often shared interesting stories of the events that occurred in a one room schoolhouse. During the Second World War Margaret was employed by Butler Stampings and Machine Screw Limited in Preston, Ontario. Margaret returned to Winnipeg and was employed at the Manitoba Telephone System. In 1947 Margaret married Melvin Roy Hill of Mather, Manitoba, and they raised two sons, Bruce and Blair. In 1962 the family moved to Thunder Bay, Ontario where Margaret was employed at Westmount Hospital as their Payroll Officer. Following her retirement, she returned to Winnipeg. Her retirement included membership in the St. James Art Club where she became a successful painter. In addition to being an avid reader, Margaret also volunteered at a few personal care homes. She had an affection for all animals, particularly dogs, and she spent many hours enjoying and spoiling the family pets.
We wish to thank the staff at Heritage Lodge for their excellent care.
In accordance with Margaret's wishes no funeral will be held.
