ADELINE DAY
(HUFF)
1955 - 2020
She will be missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Stephen, of 44 years; daughter Lindsey (Matt) Zirk; sister Marlene Cychmistruk of Minitonas, Manitoba; nephew Clint (Karen) Cychmistruk and their daughters, Calleigh and Carly of Tampa, Florida; Aunt Ruth Wallie of Winnipeg, Manitoba; Aunt Martha Parker of Winnipeg, Manitoba; mother-in-law Eva Day of Dauphin, Manitoba; numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. Adeline was predeceased by her parents, Dan and Marie Huff; father-in-law Eric Day; brother-in-law Alex Cychmistruk; sister-in-law Carol Day; and brother-in-law Jake Enns.
Adeline was born on January 13, 1955, in Swan River, Manitoba. After graduating from high school she worked at the Swan Valley Coop in the hardware department where she met her future husband, Stephen. They were married July 17, 1976 at the Minitonas First Baptist Church. In 1980 she started working at the Bank of Montreal and her and Stephen welcomed their daughter in 1983. In 1988 Stephen's job led them to Winnipeg, and Adeline continued to work for the Bank of Montreal main office for another three years before the family moved to Beausejour. In 2018, Adeline retired from an 18 year career as an Educational Assistant at Edward Schreyer School.
Mom will always be remembered for the big dinners she made for her family and for her love of baking countless different desserts. She loved spending time with her family and friends and cheering on her beloved Winnipeg Jets and Blue Bombers. In the past few years Mom became more adventurous driving an ATV, going fishing, and even shooting a pellet gun. She loved gardening and would spend hours in the yard making sure her flower gardens looked perfect. Mom was an animal lover of all kinds and especially loved their cat "Banana". Adeline loved to travel with her family to Florida to see her nephew, his wife and their children, as well as making many trips throughout the year back "home" to Swan River / Minitonas.
We are so thankful for the wonderful care Adeline received at Health Sciences Centre and Beausejour Hospital during her final days.
A private service will be held at Elim Baptist Church in Beausejour, Manitoba on July 22, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. and a live stream can be viewed on Elim Baptist Church Beausejour Facebook page. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. in Swan River, Manitoba on July 25, 2020, at the Birchwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Interlake Eastern Health Foundation, c/o Selkirk Regional Health Centre, P.O. Box 5000, 120 Easton Drive, Selkirk, Manitoba R1A 2M2.

Adeline and I became fast friends when I transferred to the high school where she worked. She made me feel welcomed and we spent a lot of time discussing teenagers. We also talked a lot about our children. She was so excited about helping Lynsey with her new home. I was asked to do a retirement speech and it was such an honour. That was the last celebration we spent together at Pineridge Hollow. I am still in shock and disbelief that we lost a such good friend. Words cannot express my sadness for the family. I hold you in my thoughts. Margaret - Posted by: Margaret Davies (Friend) on: Jul 28, 2020
