ABE PAULS
Abe was born in Beechy, Saskatchewan to a family of 10 and went to a one-roomed school house from elementary to high school. He married Martha Funk circa 1967 and they had many happy years together in Winnipeg and Calgary until she passed away in 2006. He grew up on a farm and farming was always his passion. He kept the family farm even as he married and worked as a postman for 15 years. He travelled from Calgary, Alberta to Glen Kerr, Saskatchewan twice a year to seed and harvest every year.
Dad had a fabulous tenor voice and sang in choirs most of his life. He loved God and never missed a Bible study or church service, and I never knew him to pass by someone who needed help. He trusted in Jesus and has received the gift of eternal life because his sins are forgiven.
Abe is survived by his daughter Carol Nixon-Pauls; his grandson John Nixon-Pauls; his sister Bertha Klassen, his sister Laura (Neil) Funk; his brother Wally Pauls; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Tina Pauls; his brother John Jr.; sister-in-law Betty; his brother Adolph; his sister Mary, his brother-in-law Johnny Klassen; his brother Harold; his brother Irvin; and his nephew Herb.
Thank you to the wonderful staff and Heritage Personal Care Home who took care of him so devotedly.
The funeral will be on Friday, July 31 at 2:00 p.m. at Nassau Street Church. Interment will be at a later date.
