BETTY (YAGER) MELNYK

We are deeply saddened by the loss of our mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mom passed away on the early morning of July 11, 2020, at Golden West Lodge, at the age of 95, three weeks short of her birthday.
Left to mourn the loss of our mom is her son Wayne (Carol), their son Chris (Victoria), their daughter Tenise (Jay) Conner, Owen, and Myles.
Daughter Betty Ann (John 2013), daughter Melissa, son Jonathan (Carlee) Beau and Brooks, daughter Theresa (Jeremy) Millie.
Daughter Carol (Ron); daughter Alanna; son Daryl (Rheanne) Isabella.
Niece Kathy.
Mom was born in Tosok, Hungary and came to Canada in 1929 at the age of five, married Joseph in 1942, and they had three children. Mom worked at Eatons for a number of years, and retired in 1982. Mom and Dad enjoyed spending winters in Florida, Arizona, and eventually choosing Victoria prior to Dad's passing. Her most cherished times were spent with her family, and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow.
A private family Mass was held on July 19, 2020, per Mom's wishes.
We would like to give a very heartfelt thank you to the staff on the 3rd floor of the Golden West Centennial Lodge for their exceptional support and care of our mom.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to Golden West Centennial Lodge's deck restoration in our mom's name.
