JOAN SIGRIDUR STEFANIA DAHL
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children, Laurie Paradis (Grant), Curtis Dahl (Marlene), Brad Dahl (Carrie), Warren Dahl (Leesa), and Cameron Dahl (Terry), brother Jim Collins (Gloria), 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Joan was predeceased by her husband Irving, mother Anna Kristin Johnston, father James Collins, and brother Hugh Collins.
Joan was born in 1936 in Riverton, MB. She was the youngest in the family of three children. Joan attended elementary and high school in Riverton and met the love of her life, Irving, at the age of 17. The couple married in 1955 and began to build their life together, settling down in Winnipeg where they raised their five children. Joan devoted her life to creating and maintaining a happy and loving home. She loved cooking and baking for her family and friends.
Joan and Irving loved spending summers at their cottage in Hnasau, MB. Wonderful memories were made there with their children and grandchildren through family celebrations and everyday life. They eventually retired to their cottage in the summers and spent many winters in Arizona and British Columbia. They eventually took up permanent residence in Gimli for the winters while residing at the cottage in the summer. While in Gimli, Joan kept active by golfing and curling with her close friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at Riverton Supportive Housing and Johnston Memorial Hospital for the incredible treatment and support that she received while in their care.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a graveside service will be held for family only at the Riverton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.

Our Sympathy to the family. Joan was part of our family as she was my Aunty Stina's only daughter and babysat me all the time and was a close companion of my Sister. She was part of our family until Irving came along and they got married and the had, Laurie and she was beautiful. We have lost connections but their 60th, was a family time to behold. Our family to your family, Gloria and Jim, family wish you our Sympathy and big Hugs. Morley, Laura and families. - Posted by: Joan Dahl (Cousin) on: Aug 02, 2020
