ANNE ELIZABETH STREILEIN
(nee HESSLER)
Mom will be sadly missed by her children, Leonard (Regena), Randy (Debby), Wayne, Carol Anne (Frank) Schulz and Richard, daughter-in-law Sandra, 18 grandchildren with spouses, 11 great-grandchildren, brothers, Ronald (Joyce), Allen (Martine), and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Anne was predeceased by her loving husband Peter, her parents, Michael and Mary Hessler, in-laws, Jacob and Mary Streilein, grandson Matthew, adopted son James Schellenberg, brother Ernie (Carol), and sister Margaret (Tony) Lilley.
Anne was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was born in Winnipeg and lived her whole life there. She was always active, loving, caring and the Matriarch for her family. She was our Rock that we could always turn to for help. She married Peter in 1954 and enjoyed 55 years of wedded bliss until his passing in 2009. They had five children together and one adopted son. She loved her dogs, especially her best friend Casey. She was active in her church, attending St. Joseph's school as a child, volunteering and member of the CWL for over 65 years, also member of St. Anthony of Padua Church. She enjoyed attending the Senior's Leisure Club and her Tuesday prayer group. She worked for Sears in the 1970s and for Canada Safeway in the 1980s. She enjoyed her summers at her cottage in Otter Falls, Whiteshell with her family. Anne loved to travel and explored many countries but especially loved her trips to Europe and Hawaii every winter. Anne was an awesome cook, even better baker, enjoyed many other interests and devoted her life to her children.
A funeral mass will take place on Friday, August 7, 2020, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Burrin Ave., Winnipeg, MB, with Reverend Dominic Yuen officiating.

Please accept our sincere sympathy with Anne’s passing in Feb. We were made aware of her last months of challenges and trust she is finally at peace. She will be remembered as a wonderful friend to our family. Her laugh was infectious and we never had to wonder what she was thinking. Leonard and Regina please extend our sympathy to Carol and your brothers and there families as well. Sincerely Paul and Pat Reichardt - Posted by: Paul and Pat Reichardt (Friends) on: Aug 10, 2020
